I want to make the world a vegetarian world.
Would that be enough to change the destiny of the souls?
It would improve a lot. Less horrible karmas to suffer. Less animals in anxiety.
What is missing then to make the world a better place?
If people eat food without karma. Food that has been offered to god?
How does that work?
Well you remember that you did not create the food and that you had to get some vegetables etc to cook. That is also karma. Plants also have feelings. But if you offer the food you made to god and ask him to give you intelligence to use the strength you get from eating the offered food in his service, then there is no karmic reaction.
What is the prove of that?
Well in the classic Bhagavat Gita lord Krishna says that those who eat without offering their food only eat sin.
But then a meat eater may think that he can offer his fish and meat As well.
NO , that is wrong. Krishna Has told us to only offer with love vegetarian items such as salads, fruits, grains, water etc.
He does not want you to kill animals.
Wow that means we can eat without worry?
Yes with joy and with giving your thanks again and again.
And eat with your family and if possible invite a person hungry to join the meal.
And don’t forget to use as natural ingredients for cooking as you can get.
Krishna doesn’t like it when we poison mother earth with chemicals.
That is not so easy.
May be not easy but worth your time. What you neglect today you pay tomorrow. Pesticides and chemical fertilizers do not permit that you stay healthy.
There is a lot to learn in life.
Wonderful, there is a saying that you start growing old when you stop learning more. So keep learning that keeps you very young and progressive.
Join the spoon revolution.
Yes, the karma free food Spoon revolution!
But how do I offer my food in practice?
Offer it from your heart to the Lord or learn how a more traditional offering is made.
You can also be grateful for every bite of nourishing offered food. Because it is called Prasadam in India which means mercy.
And there are so many prayers in the world to say thanks for the food.
I would like to know what people pray to say thank you to God for the food.
Well let us try to make a collection from people all over the world.
I know the way they say thank you in Bengal.
“sarira avidya-jal jodendriya tahe kal
jive phele visaya-sagore
ta'ra madhye jihwa ati, lobhamoya sudurmati
ta'ke jeta kathina samsare
krsna boro doyamoya, koribare jihwa jaya
swa-prasad-anna dilo bhai
sei annamrta pao, radha-krsna-guna gao
preme dako caitanya-nitai ”
Translation : This material body is a lump of ignorance and the senses are a network of paths leading to death. We have fallen into this ocean of material sense enjoyment. Of all the senses the tongue is the most difficult to control and is always very greedy to taste things.
But Krsna is so merciful that he gives us His prasada, the remnants from His own mouth, to help us conquer the tongue. This prasada is full of nectar. Take this prasada and glorify Radha and Krsna. With love call for the help of Caitanya-Nitai.
Wow that is a nice prayer. Does anyone know other prayers please send them to us to share with all.
And eating such food actually helps to be happy and to control the mind quite a bit.
Sometimes there are vegetarian feasts in temples and on vegetarian festivals.
That is wonderful and cooking classes as well from the people of the spoon revolution.
Yes , these are all great ideas to make the world better. It is not difficult . You just have to give your big YES to karma free food.
We will talk more very soon here on the karma free blog to share with others.

You are already a vegetarian, congratulations, still you are eating plants and any type of agriculture has a sort of violence. Now please hear about a very ancient system which can transform your food from just being ordinary food into something that purifies you and doesn’t has any karmic reactions on the contrary this type of food will enlighten you and help you see the world in a different light. In Indian Sanskrit this food is called prasadam or mercy.
May be you have heard of prasadam, that is given in yoga ashrams (yoga monastery), what make this food special that it was cooked with love and offered to god in spiritual traditions, it’s a little bit like specking a prayer of thanks giving. If you like this it can become a part of your life easily, and you can practice it anywhere, what do you have to do? First you have to understand the process and execute it. Everything that moves or doesn’t moves belong to god he is the creator of everything and protector of everything, now before eating anything you should first think how this food got all the way to you to be eaten, how many wonders took place to produce a banana, With this mind you could offer the food before you eat it to the god with a very simple prayer or with a more elaborate ceremony. The shortest way of offering something to God which you can do even before drinking a glass of water is to pronounce the holy name in your faith, and you say my dear lord please except this food I have brought to you and let me get straight by your mercy that I may learn how to serve you with love, in Sanskrit you can also say “Shri Vishnu, Shri Vishnu, Shri Vishnu”.
Actually eating should be done in the circle of our family with our friends, this meeting become very spiritual. A more elaborate way to offer your food is to have a special place for the supreme lord and a alter at your home. An alter, you can also produce mentally if you are traveling for example. So we put the plate after we have cooked (hopefully with love) on the alter and we speck the following prayer; “Oh my lord please let me be an instrument of you love, I appreciate your causeless mercy and I want to offer this food to you, so then it may be purified that I will gain the fortune to serve you and your devotees”. If somebody has a spiritual master in the Vedic tradition he will also pronounce his invocation and may be some other specific Sanskrit prayer what I have given you here is a synopsis of it and it will definitely work to make you food karma free and mercy full.
Some Sanskrit Prayers to be offered before food.
"om ajnana-timirandhasya jnananjana-salakaya cakshur unmilitam yena tasmai sri-gurave namah sri-caitanya-mano-bhishtamsthapitam yena bhu-tale svayam rupah kada mahyam dadati sva-padantikam "
I offer my most humble obeisance who has opened my eyes with torchlight of knowledge, when I was in the deepest darkness of ignorance. I request you dear spiritual master please help me so I may be able to offer what I have cooked for supreme lord for his pleasure.
"namo maha vadanyaya krishna prema pradayate
krishnaya krishna chaitanya namne gaura tvise namah"
My dear lord Chaitanya you are the most magnanimous of all the divine appearance because you are freely distributing you love for go to all please be so kind and accept the offering which I have tried to cook for you with love.
"namo brahmanya devaya go brahmanaya hitaya ca
jagad hitaya krsnaya govindaya namo namah"
jagad hitaya krsnaya govindaya namo namah"
My dear lord Govindaji you are the giver of the senses and you also please them with so many things I am trying to please you with this humble offering of mine. You protect the cows and I wish I can help to make other people vegetarian as well by distributing you reminisce mercy to them.
You can speak these mantras 3 times ringing a bell, while the food sits on your alter in front of the picture of the lord. There also some songs that can be sung after, all the brahmins chant there daily Gayatri mantra while the lord is eating.
There are many little rules and regulations which go along with the offering to the lord, but the essence is make it with love. So many people in the world are in the need of food and the lord has given you so much that you can easily distribute to others.
The Karma Free Food means the lord accepts your offerings and thus no karmic reactions go to you from the sides of the plants or any other directions and I tell you that has a big effect on the people.
Please try it out and don’t be ashamed to share with your family and friends.
